Bukhari

Bukhari is our award winning restaurant at COMO Uma Paro—named for the traditional Bhutanese fireplace that forms a dramatic centrepiece to its circular, pavilion-style design.

Lunch dishes tend more towards international comfort food, while dinner is gastronomic—a rare fine-dining treat in the Paro Valley. Menus are based on seasonal, local produce sourced by Executive Chef Arsa Made , who delivers both Bhutanese and international dishes with strong flavours and serious finesse.

Chef Profile

Dewa Wijaya, Executive Chef
Indonesia-born Dewa previously worked with us at our COMO Shambhala Estate in Bali, and Parrot Cay by COMO in the Turks and Caicos. Always respectful of local nuances even as he innovates, Dewa has worked hard to revive traditional Bhutanese offerings while providing creative contemporary interpretations of the cuisines of neighbouring countries, especially India. His international repertoire is second to none.

Uma Bar

Adjacent to Bukhari, our relaxed Uma Bar provides all-day dining and refreshments from 11am. The ideal place to enjoy morning coffee, an early evening cocktail or a drink from the extensive wine list, our expert team can also whizz up a revitalising non-alcoholic smoothie or fruit juice.

Serving an all-day dining menu that incorporates healthful COMO Shambhala Cuisine, the Uma Bar is also a welcoming space for lunch or supper and can be booked out for a private gathering of up to 20 people with a VIP set dinner menu.
