A heritage of culture and history

Split is the heart and the centre of Dalmatia, where the main Dalmatian islands and the most beutiful beaches are located. This is also where the most valuable cultural monuments and four of the seven Croatian sites declared as World Heritage by UNESCO are – the historic centre of Split with Diocletian's Palace, the historical town of Trogir and Starogradsko polje on the island of Hvar.

A wash in the warm charm of the Mediterranean, Split is a city with rich history, not only within the walls of its museums, palaces and churches, but in the city itself.

 Nature beauties

The area around Split is the most densely populated and, culturally and historically, the richest in this part of Dalmatia. Mother nature has indeed been generous to Central Dalmatia, bequeathing to it a coastline and long pebble beaches shaded by fragrant pine trees and adorning its sea with the beauty of a string of islands of exquisite beauty.

Wine and dine

All those wishing to present central Dalmatia simply will call their guests to the table, the best place for a host's heartfelt welcome. On offer will be the lamb of Brač with its unique flavor and one of that island's specialties, the "vitalac" made of lamb innards and Brač sheep's milk cheese in oil. The Cetina region is known for its crayfish and the frog specialties among which frog legs prepared with the local dry-cured ham deserves special mention.   Fresh caught lobster, succulent shrimps, octopus salads, grilled fish platters, mixed shellfish delicacies; Whatever your desire, the seafood in Croatia offer a wide variety of the most extravagant gastronomical specialties!
