“Play for All Ages” takes on a new meaning with the arrival of Equine Experiences and the addition of five happy horses to the barn at Carmel Valley Ranch.
Bolstering an already robust menu of outdoor, artisan-led experiences from beekeeping to lavender harvesting, The Ranch’s brand new Equine Experiences program offers guests new ways to forge bonds and find fun during their time at the property — from reuniting with family and friends to reconnecting in productive yet playful meetings, or simply taking time to get away.
The Equine Experiences program combines the property’s stunning natural surroundings with a program based on science and driven by well-being, supervised by leaders in the field of equine assisted learning and psychology. Developed and led by Robert G. Magnelli, Ph.D. (also known as “The Horseman”), it embraces and celebrates the power of horses to provide feedback and strengthen connections, while bringing five new horses to The Ranch.
Five immersive activities include the family-friendly Getting to Know Our Herd, where guests spend time interacting with Valentina, Bella, Diva, Vincenzo, and Geronimo in meaningful ways; learning methods for improving physical and emotional wellbeing through an engaging session with the herd through Growing Awareness; and Equines and Wine, which allows participants to unwind, ground themselves in the present and dissolve worries through quality, hands-on time with the horses and a glass of wine.
