The story of the Hotel Sacher Wien began back in 1876 when Eduard Sacher, son of the creator of the Original Sacher-Torte, merged culture with hospitality. Hardly time passed and soon it was on everyone´s lips, world-wide known as a meeting place for big personalities in politics, arts, culture and society.

Guided by the loving hands of the Gürtler and Winkler family, the hotel preserves the unique and personal ambiance with the old-world charm of the former Habsburg monarchy. Throughout, the individual designs of our 152 rooms and suites, one can discover the luxurious ambiance of the 19th century combined with contemporary state-of-the-art comfort. Located directly in the heart of Vienna, our rooms and suits offer a magnificent view of the Vienna State Opera, Hofburg and Albertina Museum - especially the rooms and suites on the top floor offer a stunning view over the rooftop’s of Vienna.

However, not only the design of the hotel itself throws you back in time, but also our restaurants and bars create an remarkable experience of Vienna’s haute cuisine as the “Sacher trilogy“ in its purest and original form. Hence, in the famous restaurant “Rote Bar“, live-piano music accompanies authentic Viennese cuisine with glance on the Opera, whilst the fine-dining restaurant “Grüne Bar“ combines locally sourced ingredients with international dishes in the most unique atmosphere. Enjoying Vienna the right way, our well-known hotel bar “Blaue Bar” offers a sophisticated pre- or post-Opera drink hot-spot.

To take some time off, our exclusive Sacher Boutique Spa features a variety of spa facilities for profound relaxation. Treatments can be arranged in private spa suites with product labels of La Prairie and Ligne St. Barth. Moreover, our Sacher Boutique Spa invites to discover the secrets of our exclusive no-calories body line "Time to Chocolate".
