An homage to the diverse and vibrant spirit of New York City, The Artisans Terrace Suite is a testament to the exquisite craftsmanship, artistry, and elegant design of the city's artisans, and their enduring legacy on the city's cultural landscape. Named after the "Artisans' Gate" entrance to Central Park at 7th Avenue, the suite features bold, stylish design and an aesthetic which nods to George Gershwin's timeless "Rhapsody in Blue". Finishes are a contemporary interpretation of the Art Deco movement, capturing the essence of the Jazz Age with bold, geometric forms and vibrant colors. From the checkerboard marble floor and raw porcelain vessels in the foyer to the soft cream Venetian plaster throughout the suite, a mix of textures adds depth to the design. By blending elements of the past with contemporary luxury, the suite effortlessly instills a harmonious balance between the historic essence of New York and modern indulgence. A hand-painted, over scaled abstract mural was created specifically for the suite's open living room, which overlooks the Manhattan skyline; a custom installation above one of the suite's beds is composed of deconstructed piano's keys. Delacorte Presidential Suite
The Delacorte Presidential Suite offers a serene and natural sanctuary overlooking Central Park. The suite's palette is influenced by the nearby flora and faun, blending the vibrant colors of nature with the contemporary artwork commissioned for the reimagining of the space. Each piece serves as a reminder of the Park's natural wonders and profound impact they have on the city's landscape. The suite's theme was inspired by George T. Delacorte, founder of the Dell Publishing empire and quintessential NYC philanthropist, known especially for his dedication to the beautification and preservation of Central Park. Delacorte funded the Alice in Wonderland sculpture, Delacorte Clock and most famously the Delacorte Theater, home of Shakespear in the Park.
