Lautoka is sited in the western side of Viti Levu, the largest island in Fiji, and approximately 250 km from Suva, the capital. The city is surrounded with the blue Pacific Ocean on the western side and green gold sugar cane together with pine trees on the other sides. This side of the island is more diverse. One of the prime shopping areas nearby is the town of Nadi.

Small islets lie offshore of the small and remote island of Rotuma. Villages are scattered along the coast, with agriculture and lush forests spread inland. A seemingly endless array of produce grows here: yams, mango, papaya, bananas , taro and more. The coral reefs are untouched and pure, and the waters teem with wildlife like dolphins, parrot fish and hawk's bill turtles. The smaller neighboring islands of Hofliua, Hata and Uea are home to many seabird species; Hofliua is unique geologically due to the natural fissure running down the middle of it. With regulations on the number of tourists permitted on Rotuma, once there, it is a serene escape from the outside world.

Tuvalu's capital Funafuti is a tiny coral atoll; the width is only about 20 meters at the narrowest parts, and about 300-400 meters at the widest areas of the island. It has an estimated population of 4,000 and is a low key place. There is a cluster of administrative buildings near the air terminal along with a beautiful Church (The Church of Tuvalu). The local village is a ten minute walk to the north with a deep water wharf, a further ten minute walk north of the village. The greatest attraction on Funafuti is the enormous and inviting Funafuti lagoon which is fourteen kilometres wide and about eighteen kilometres long and is excellent for swimming and snorkelling.

Cradled along Upolu's northern shore lies the peaceful township of Apia. Picturesque thatched-roof "fales" blend into the emerald-hued countryside. Jagged mountains rise above deserted beaches where trade winds sigh on coconut palms. Banana groves and bread-fruit trees gently ripen in the moist, tropical climate. Western Samoa's friendly, carefree islanders will welcome you and proudly show you the former home of their adopted son, Robert Louis Stevenson. This is a contented island where traditional ways hold despite the passage of time.
Captain Cook deemed the islands of Tonga the “friendly islands,” for the warm reception he received. Tongans are not only famous for being the most affable of the South Sea islanders—they are known for their singing as well. Visit local villages, hike over barren lava flows, snorkel pristine waters or watch as horses haul wet pandanus leaves from the lagoon where they are soaked in preparation for making tapa cloth.
Neiafu is the second-largest towns in Tonga as well as one of the friendliest. Several companies in Neiafu offer excellent whale watching tours, as humpback whales emigrate to Vava'u from Antarctica each year arriving at the islands from June to October. The view from the top of Mt. Talau is as a beautiful sight, and a hike to the top from the trail head takes about 5-10 minutes, and the trail head is about a 15-20 minute walk up-hill from town. A 25 minute walk from town visitors will find the exciting fresh-water caves in Toula to explore.
