Cafayate is the center of the Calchaquí Valleys in the northern province of Salta, Argentina. Cafayate was inhabited by the Incas of Peru in 1480. Almost becoming a conquered Spanish town in 1535, the local Indians resisted and kept their lands until 1840 when the foundation of the town was fortified by Don Manuel Fernando de Aramburu. Cafayate now joins the Calchaqui Valleys and sits high in the lush green of Argentina making it ideal for abundant vineyards. The town is second in production to a large quantity of Spanish wine. Though rich in Spanish wine, Cafayate is also known to weave beautiful ponchos and create native pottery. Visitors can trek the valleys towards the Singular Shaped Mountain ranges near the De las Conchas Ravine, grab the spotlight inside the natural monumental amphitheater, walk into The Devil’s Throat and then immerse in Spanish viniculture.

Salta is situated in the Lerma Valley on the northwestern part of Argentina. The town was founded in 1582 by a Spanish explorer named Hernando de Lerma. The weather in Salta is mainly classified as subtropical with warm and comfortable conditions. There is so much to see and experience in the city, enjoy a day visiting some of the museums in the area, partake in outdoor activities or take a tour of the most amazing architectural buildings and cathedrals in Salta.

Cachi is a small city in the Salta Province of northern Argentina of the Calchaqui Valleys. The small city is approximately 2,280 m above sea level and is surrounded by snow-covered  Andean mountains. Thus Cachi is derived from the Quechuan word meaning “salt” because the natives mistook the mountain snow for salt mines. Due to the great weather conditions, Cachi has the highest grown vineyard in the world. Tourists can visit the Bodegas Colomé and Finca La Playa wineries. Visitors can also walk down cobble stone streets as they marvel at colonial Spanish architecture, adobe built homes, 16th century churches, and 10,000 year old preserved ancient artifacts.
