This stunning three-story property is surrounded by a majestic manicured garden, conceived by a renown landscape designer, where time seems to pass at different speed. Between the medieval city of Siena and the unspoiled Tuscan countryside, Hortus is nestled on a serene land producing olive oil with great personality. The villa preserves the original structure while the amenities are up to the current time. Each room has been painstakingly curated, wisely marrying the old with the new, featuring a mix of classic design and whimsical decorations collected by its owner from traveling all over the world.
The social spaces – two living rooms, two dining rooms and other available areas – occupy the entire ground floor of the villa and they show many treasures: antique and more current objects by most famous designers, family heirlooms, 17th century still-life paintings next to wall art by contemporary artists, rough country fabrics alternate with velvets and brightly colored panels made with ancient Uzbek Ikat. One of the living rooms has walls covered with late 18th-century boiserie that comes from a typical for that time Parisian hotel. A professional grade uber-modern stainless-steel kitchen, able to satisfy the needs of the most demanding chefs, and a guest bathroom complete the floor.
On the second floor is a private wellness area with Technogym equipment and Pilates Reformer, yoga mats and massage bed. There is also a laundry room and staff private quarter. Beside via an internal staircase, all floors can be reached by elevator.
The annex includes a comfortable, spacious living room with a picture-window overlooking the stunning landscape. It features an extra large screen TV, perfect for private screenings. A complete small kitchen is also at guests disposal should they prefer being independent at times from the main house kitchen.
In the villa garden, a generous pergola – with seating up to 18 guests – for dining alfresco with the lights of Siena in the distance is set for the guests delight. Under the dense canopy of the evergreen holm-trees it is possible to enjoy the bucolic atmosphere, or a picnic sipping your favorite Tuscan wine. By the white-stone private heated swimming pool the sun will shine until late in the afternoon. Private orchard and vegetable garden where guests are welcome to help themselves and pick the gifts of the season.
Villa Hortus is a special place for the aesthetically oriented guests with its artfully decorated interiors. Only two miles from Siena, the villa is also ideal for those seeking repose, privacy and wellness and still to be connected to a beautiful city nearby.

Tuscany
Tuscany is a charmed land, equally blessed by the genius of man and nature,
and often by the combined efforts of both. Think of the vineyards: rows of baby
green vines that manage somehow to march in arrow-straight formation up the
gently rolling hillsides, bounded by single files of darker green cypress trees,
snaking sandy roads leading to rust-colored farmhouses and moss-coated castles,
symmetrically rounded hilltops surmounted by towns so homogeneous as to seem
one single building. Every inch of land has been sculpted, first by the elements
and then by generations of inhabitants whose goals were always twofold: make
the land produce as much as possible, make the land as beautiful as possible.
Tuscany enchants us today because it holds together as a region, from the tiniest
hamlet to Florence the Magnificent. For the living proof, take a short walk
one day along the sides of the Belvedere in Florence: you will leave behind
the traffic and suddenly find yourself strolling down quiet lanes bounded by
tall stone walls, cypress trees and creamy-colored villas.
