Lake Minnewanka Boat Tours

The Devil's Gap Cruise begins at the Lake Minnewanka Tours boat dock, a scenic 55-minute drive from The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. This interpretive cruise departs several times daily and travels beneath Mt. Aylmer and Mt. Inglismaldie to Devil's Gap. All boats are glass enclosed and heated in case of inclement weather. White Water Rafting

Drench everyday routine with an exciting whitewater or gentle scenic rafting trip on the vibrant Kicking Horse River with Wild Water Adventures. Meet in the Chateau Lobby for an informative shuttle trip to Wild Water Adventures new River Base day lodge, complete with comfortable change rooms. All you'll need to bring along is a swimsuit and towel as you will be fully outfitted and prepared for your guided rafting journey by this professional river team. Trips depart twice daily from mid-May through mid-September. Back on dry land, tasty bakery treats and fresh fruit are served along with refreshing hot and cold beverages. Reservations required. Fairmont Snow School

The ultimate in teaching formats, private guided lessons provide specialized attention that guarantees fast fun results. Tuition includes custom tailored teaching; lift line priority and mountain guiding. Private and guided instruction is perfect for individuals or small parties of similar ability (maximum six). All skiers and riders of any age, novice to the seasoned expert, will enjoy and benefit from the individual attention and personalized instruction.

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts Snow School offers the best instructors in the business. Selected professionals have accumulated years of teaching and guiding experience from around the world. All of who have high levels of certification with The Canadian Ski and Snowboard Professionals. They pride themselves in offering that extra level of service, and measure their own success by the achievements and rewarding experiences of their guest. You may choose any of the three resorts in the Banff National Park in which to meet your instructor. Reservations are required, please contact the concierge at (403) 522-1887 to make a reservation. 24-hour cancellation is required.

Fishing

Cast your line and spend some relaxing hours fishing for lake trout at Lake Minnewanka, located 45 minutes east of Lake Louise. Guided fishing trips on a 22-ft. cabin cruiser are three hours in duration and include all necessary equipment. Trips depart at 9:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. A National Parks fishing permit is required and can be purchased for a nominal fee at the Lake Minnewanka office. Activity Cost: from $240 for two adults

Hours of Operation: Open seven days a week from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. The Health Club is located on the 1st floor near the west elevators.

Horseback Riding

A Rocky Mountain tradition! Re-live the days of the outfitter and his pack horse as you ride high above the shores of Lake Louise on the trail to the Lake Agnes or Plain of Six Glacier Tea House. Reservations are recommended. Available daily during summer, weather permitting. Activity Cost: from $40 - $150

Water Sports

The late Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau loved canoeing, famously commenting that it makes you 'a child of nature.'' Become a child yourself again (or bring the kids along) on a paddle across world-famous Lake Louise. Life moves in perfect unison with the sights and sounds of the wild as you guide your bright red canoe across our brilliant blue-green waters toward the towering Victoria Glacier. No previous experience required. Activity Cost: $35 plus GST per hour

Winter Sports

Snowshoeing, cross-country and downhills skiing, horse-drawn sleighs, ice-skating, dog sledding and snowmobile adventures are all offered. Please see Local Area Attractions for details.

Special Access Rooms

Special needs accommodation is available on a request basis. Please contact the hotel in advance to confirm due to limited inventory. Ramps are located throughout the hotel, with the exception of the pool. Designated parking stalls are also available in close proximity to the doors. Limited number of wheelchairs and portable equipment is available by request through Royal Service.

Day Care Centre

In this room, imagination takes flight. This is a place for children to get away from the parents and have fun making crafts, playing games, watch a movie or hang out on our climbing wall. You must be at least three years old or at least potty trained to be left alone in this staff supervised room. A nominal fee applies. Open seven days a week during ski season only.

Bicycle Rentals

Explore the Rockies on a mountain bike on local trails that vary from beginner to expert. Mountain bike rentals are available at Wilson Sports in Lake Louise village. Activity Cost: from $20 - $40

Dry Cleaning

Same day dry-cleaning service is available to our guests. Dry-cleaning is picked up daily by 8:00 a.m. to be returned to your room for 7:00 p.m. nightly.

Pet Policy

Seeing-Eye dogs are welcome at no charge. Small and well-behaved pets under 20 lbs. are permitted in the hotel at a charge of $25 daily. Your pet is welcomed and registered upon check-in. You will be given a pet pack with a gift and guidelines for your pet. Animals are to be supervised and on a leash at all times. Pet-sitting services are available through Royal Service.

Ski Storage

The hotel is pleased to provide ski storage at the Bell Desk. The Guest Services team will be glad to assist you. Skis are not permitted on guest floors or within your guest room.
