Grand Hôtel opens two newly renovated suites

Today marks the inauguration of what is perhaps the most exclusive accommodation in Stockholm – two of the Grand Hôtel’s signature suites. Both suites have been totally renovated and are now named the Rooftop suite and the Flag suite. Behind the new interiors is the world-renowned, Swedish-born designer Martin Brudnizki, who made his debut in the Swedish market with this project.

The Grand Hotel’s signature suites are situated on the top floor of the main hotel building, overlooking the Stockholm waterfront and the Royal Palace. After a full year of renovation, the suites are now ready for their first guests. One of the most accoladed interior architects in the world, the Swedish-born Martin Brudnizki is behind the design. In this high-profile assignment, the Grand Hôtel is delighted to be the first in Sweden to collaborate with this London and New York based architect.

“Working with Martin Brudnizki has been both fun and rewarding,” says Pia Djupmark, CEO at the Grand Hôtel. “That our signature suites are his first project in Sweden makes the collaboration extra special. We strive to work with the best in class in everything we do and we are extremely happy with the results.”

The suites are inspired by the interiors Brudnizki was surrounded with growing up. Reflecting a residential look, with subtle colors, patterns and contemporary furniture, the style is comfortable and private with a touch of modern flair. Two dominant color schemes are used: blue and pink, and green and yellow, with pops of strong color throughout the suites, for example on the velvet chairs and geometrically patterned rugs.

The suites, which together span an impressive 185 sq.m., contain an open fireplace and access to a private terrace. Located in splendid isolation on their own floor, the suites can be enjoyed individually or connected to each other.

Brudnizki, who was born in Stockholm, has spent his entire professional life abroad. In 2000, he established the Martin Brudnizki Design Studio (MBDS) in London, followed by a branch in New York in 2012. MBDS is an internationally acclaimed interior architecture and design studio with extensive experience in creating interiors for hotels, restaurants, bars and private members’ clubs. The Grand Hôtel has now been added to Brudnizki’s coveted portfolio of clients.

With its beautiful interiors and superb waterfront location at the very heart of Stockholm, the Grand Hôtel has been home to international celebrities, prestigious events and discerning bon-vivants since 1874. The hotel houses the stylish Cadier Bar, Mathias Dahlgren’s award-winning restaurants and the classic Veranda, all offering spectacular views of the Royal Palace and world-class food and drink. The Grand Hôtel also boasts relaxing saunas, steam baths, and refreshing plunge pools at Nordic Spa & Fitness. The Grand Hôtel is owned by Investor AB via The Grand Group.
