Sagaing

Sagaing lies on the western bank of the Ayeyarwaddy River and is an important religious center. The picturesque area around Sagaing is home to many Buddhist nunneries and monasteries, a major monastic hospital, numerous temples, pagodas and stupas. The region’s busiest months are October and November. This is the full moon of Tazaungmon and Buddhists from all over Myanmar come to Sagaing to offer their respects to the resident monks.
