Jaffa

Jaffa is a beautiful city of crumbling sandstone that arises from the waves on rocks and shifting sand dunes. It has been historically important largely because of its port. From archeological discoveries and ancient documents we learn that Jaffa existed as a port city some 4,000 years ago, serving Egyptian and Phoenician sailors in their sea voyages. The port of Jaffa is used today as a fishing harbor and as an international marina. The city is also noted for its export of the famous Jaffa oranges.
